BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: The condition of the two students in the pool car accident in Hooghly’s Polba is said to be slightly better on Sunday afternoon. Both the schoolchildren —Rishav Singh and Dibyangshu Bhagat — were shifted to SSKM Hospital after the pool car accident in Polba on Friday.
Four schoolchildren were seriously injured when their speeding pool car rammed into a railing of a water body in Polba on Friday.
The SSKM Hospital authorities had formed a medical board comprising seven doctors to treat them. The children were kept under ventilation. The doctors performed surgery on Rishav on Friday night.
The doctors got the image of the lungs of Rishav by tracheotomy. Dibyanghu has been kept in the trauma care unit. The doctors said that the condition of the two school kids has “improved slightly” on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pool car, Shamim, disappeared from the Hooghly Hospital after the poor maintenance of the car surfaced in the media. The police are on the lookout for Shamim.
On Friday, a pool car carrying 14 school children along with the driver rammed into the railing of a canal before it fell into it in. Four students were seriously injured. Two of them were shifted to SSKM Hospital after their condition was said to be critical. Eleven children were discharged after being given first aid.
