BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: A complaint has been filed against Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra after a Non-Resident Indian (NRI), Sachin Joshi, accused them of cheating him in a gold purchase scheme.
The complainant went to the Khar Police Station, Mumbai, recently and lodged a complaint that he, an investor, had been duped by Satyug Gold Pvt Ltd, a gold trading company which was previously directed by the couple, according to an official.
According to Joshi, he had purchased nearly a kilo of gold for Rs 18.58 lakh from the company in 2014 and was offered a certain quantity of gold at a discounted rate after a period of five years. So, his term was supposed to get fulfilled in 2019 and when he went to do so, he found that the company’s office had shut down.
Feeling cheated, he filed a complaint. According to reports, no FIR has been filed though investigations are being carried out.
Raj denied the charges in an official statement and said it was a ‘false narrative’.
