AGENCIES, Kolkata: The Centre has started investigation if election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor had taken any cargo flight from Delhi to Kolkata during the lockdown. However, so far, the Centre is yet to find any such evidence against him.
According to a Times of India report, the aviation authorities are going through CCTV footages of Delh and Kolkata.
Meanwhile, Kishor has denied taking any such flight during the lockdown.
The Centre has started enquiry following media reports that Bengal chief minister has called Kishor to salvage the COVID-19 situation in the state.
Ajay Alok, leader of the Janata Dal (United), of which Kishor was a part, before being expelled for his stance against party chief and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, also criticised Kishor and Mamata.
“During the pandemic people are seeking masks, sanitizers, ventilators and other equipment alongside doctors and nurses. Didi (Mamata) ordered such a heavy duty cargo item,” said Alok in a tweet.

Refuting the charges, Kishor said he will retire from public life if the allegations were proven true and dared the saffron party to furnish the papers to prove the charges levelled against him. “If the BJP leader was speaking the truth, he should furnish details of his travel like which flight I boarded and the time when it took off and landed,” he said.
“If he does so, I will retire from public life. If not, people like him should apologise,” he said.
