BH CORRESPONDENT, Chennai: BMW India has announced the launch of its refreshed second-generation compact SUV BMW X1.
To be locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the car is now available in BS VI diesel and petrol variants at all dealerships across the country.

The refreshed car now sports the larger BMW grille – whose kidneys now merge in the middle – and the sharper light iconography of the new LED headlights.
The BMW X1 will be available in three variants biased towards appearance packages– the new SportX, xLine and M Sport. SportX combines of sporty and ‘X’ elements, xLine packages focuses on off-road looks and M Sport gives the car a sports feel.
Key highlight of the interior is the 8.8-in Central Information Display with iDrive Controller and Navigation with touch functionality and wireless Apple CarPlay® connectivity.
The powertrain packages include two-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder petrol engines offering output of 192hp and maximum torque of 280 Nm at 1,350 – 4,600 rpm. Sprinting performance of 0 -100 km/h in done in 7.7 seconds. The two-litre four-cylinder diesel engine produces an output of 190 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm at 1,750 – 2,500 rpm and is marginally slower at 7.9 seconds for its 0-100km/h.
BMW EfficientDynamics features in the new BMW X1 are Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission, Auto Start-Stop, Brake-Energy Regeneration among others.
