BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh extends support to the three party supporters, who were arrested for raising ‘goli maro’ slogan at Amit Shah’s Kolkata rally on Sunday. Ghosh also said they will provide all legal help to the accused.
On the other hand, Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said those who raised such provocative slogan will not be spared.
“Yesterday I got those three people arrested for raising provocative slogans. We have identified some other people. No one will be spared,” she said at Netaji Indoor Stadium, where she launched TMC’s latest campaign ‘Banglar Gorbo Mamata’.
BJP state president also found nothing objectionable in mouthing such slogans. “There is no wrong in demanding that the traitors of the country be shot. I myself had demanded that anti-national elements should be shot dead. However, while making such a demand, one needs to maintain decency and avoid the use of slang,” Ghosh defended.
Kolkata police on Monday had arrested Surendra Kumar Tiwari (55), Dhruba Basu (71) and Pankaj Prasad, who are all known members of the BJP legal cell, under sections 505, 506, 34, 153A of the IPC will be produced today at the Bankshall court.
