BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Amid the 21-day nationwide lockdown, actor Amitabh Bachchan shared a video on Twitter that was previously posted by a social media user wherein the Sarat Bose Road of Kolkata was being sanitized. Calling it ‘fantastic’, Big B urged Mumbai municipality authorities to do the the same in the city.
A few days ago, Big B was surprised to see streets and landmarks of Kolkata deserted in the wake of the complete lockdown. When a fan shared photos of empty Howrah Bridge, Red Road and other iconic parts of Kolkata on Twitter on Twitter, Bachchan looked shocked.
Retweeting the pictures, he wrote: “This is incredible .. especially for those that have lived and do live in Kolkata .. this is Howrah Bridge, Red Road (?) , the flyover to the Airport .. it is impossible to imagine this sight.”

Bachchan has been raising awareness about COVID-19 constantly. He had earlier penned a poem on coronavirus, and even posted a couple of lines on social media. He urged the citizens of the country to listen to the PM and not move out of the home for the next 21 days. He along with his family was seen participating in Janta Curfew and expressing gratitude for those working in the health sector.
In his blog, Big B has written that it is a silent country and now for another 21 days, one should remain in the homes, in the confinement of the rooms… there would be family discussions, debate. The veteran actor urged his extended family (his fans, whom he fondly calls his extended family (Ef) to face time within this stipulated time. He also hopes and prays that the effects and impacts of the virus diminishes and dissolves away.
