New Delhi: Mahindra came well-prepared for the show with an arsenal of 18 cars at Auto Expo 2020 on Wednesday in Greater Noida. The Funster Electric concept electric SUV gives a glimpse into how electric cars can also be fun. The open top car with scissor doors was fitted with dual electric motors and full-time AWD system enabling it to offer class leading output of 230 kW with a top speed of 200 km/h. Performance figures are impressive too with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration coming up in 5 seconds. Funster is equipped with a 59.1 kWh battery pack that will enable it to travel 520 kms on a single charge. Mahindra also showcased the eKUV100 and XUV300 Electric.
The other concept vehicle that was presented as smart mobility solution was the ATOM. Designed to appeal to the emerging new India and transform the face of last mile connectivity. ATOM is a combination of clean, comfortable and smart mobility according to Mahindra. The quadricycle-inspired car with a boxy profile comes with monocoque architecture is powered by Mahindra’s latest electric drive system. Although a compact, ATOM has a spacious interior and designed for occupant safety. ATOM also comes equipped with a state-of-the-art 4G ready connectivity system.
Slated for launch later in the year, ATOM will be made at Mahindra’s Bangalore facility. This set-up was earlier used for manufacturing of cars like E2O & E2O+.
