BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the daily wage workers of the film industry are the most affected and the members of the Bengali film industry have already come forward to help them. A special fund has already been set up by the Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI) for the daily wage workers and a lot of actors, directors like Aparna Sen, Gautam Ghosh, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Arindam Sil, Jeet Ganguly, Ankush, Gaurav Chakraborty and others have pledged donations to the fund.
And now, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has come forward with an innovative concept. A short film spreading the message of coronavirus pandemic will be directed by Sil soon with the leading actors of Bengali film industry. The concept belongs to the chief minister and she has even penned one of the songs, titled Jhar Theme Jaabe Ekdin, for the short film, which will be composed by Kabir Suman.
The script is being developed by Padmanabha Dasgupta and Sil. Bickram Dasgupta is in-charge of the music department of the film. From Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, Abir Chatterjee, Nusrat Jahan, Koel Mallick, Subhashree, Rukmini Maitra to Paran Bandopadhyay, a number of actors will be part of this short film. However, all the actors will remain in the confinement of their homes and shoot for the film, which is funded by Camellia Productions.
