BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech to put the entire nation under lockdown for the next 21 days to combat against the deadly coronavirus has been appreciated by most of the Bollywood fraternity but it didn’t manage to impress Anurag Kashyap and Vir Das.
The Gangs of Wasseypur director Anurag Kashyap questioned the PM’s preference for making announcements at 8 pm, leaving only the people with a few hours to prepare for the ordeal. He said that it would have been better if people were given more time to prepare.

He was obviously referring to the giant economic decision of demonetization which had the Indian public clutching their hair and caused a lot of problems following the days it was announced.
Comedian Vir Das was also critical of the PM’s nation address on Tuesday. While the comedian appreciated the ‘bold move’, he felt the speech of the Prime Minister could have been curtailed. However, he only has PM’s speechwriter to blame for this. And Vir said that the speech left a lot of people in a state of panic proves that it didn’t go as planned.
His tweet read, “This is a brave bold decision and I support and applaud our PM. Not his speech writer. The fact that people are panicking in response to a speech, means it didn’t go as planned. This is the second time that’s happened. Make the speeches clear and detailed.”
