BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a complete lockdown of the country for 21 days to combat the deadly coronavirus pandemic. Modi said India was at a critical stage where even a single misstep could lead to COVID-19 spreading like wildfire. “Forget about leaving home in the next 21 days… If you cross the Lakshman Rekha, you will invite the virus home,” the PM categorically mentioned.

Soon after he addressed the nation, several Bollywood celebrities came out in support of Modi’s decision. Amitabh Bachchan, who had earlier penned a poem on coronavirus, even posted a couple of lines on social media. He urged the citizens of the country to listen to the PM and not move out of the home for the next 21 days.

In his blog, Big B has written that it is a silent country and now for another 21 days, one should remain in the homes, in the confinement of the rooms… there would be family discussions, debate. The veteran actor urged his extended family (his fans, whom he fondly calls his extended family (Ef) to face time within this stipulated time. He also hopes and prays that the effects and impacts of the virus diminishes and dissolves away.

“.. no birthdays to give gratitude .. the kindness of the feelings from the Ef in their willingness .. a day in their birth light .. a moment for the others to delight .. write in wish in embrace in .. and provide the happiness for all ..

.. the stillness resounds .. sounds unheard heard , the birds and other .. a silent country .. now for another 21 days , isolated , in the homes, in the confines of room .. family discussion debate .. face timed in all , often within the stipulated metre distance from the CvD19 regulations .. for another 21 days be stipulated , with hope and prayer that it diminishes and dissolves away ..

.. the nation listens .. I listen and convert to verse .. its pathetically bad, but it is an attempt ..,” Bachchan wrote on his official blog.

On his Instagram, he penned a couple of lines in Hindi and a photograph of himself and the country in chains and locks. The legendary actor, who participated in Janta Curfew with his entire family urged all to listen to the PM.
