BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: Initially, the market thought that only the made in India Harley-Davidson models were on offer, that through Canteen Stores Departments (CSD) for armed forces personnel only. But as it transpires, Harley-Davidson India has BS IV inventory which it needs to off-load like any other 2-wheeler brand in India before the BS VI deadline, that is April 1.
Harley-Davidson India is offering attractive deals on BS IV models with discounts up to Rs 2 lakh on models like the Fat Boy, Fat Bob, Sportster and Street.
However, market sources say that retailers are also trying to woo potential customers with even more discounts on a case-to-case basis. Of course, this depending on the dealer location and stock. In some cases, the rebate can extend to up to Rs 4 lakh.
Here’s how the BS IV offers look like — the Fat Bob’s is offered at a discount of Rs 1.5 lakh while the Sportster portfolio which includes Iron 883, 1200 Custom, Roadster and Forty-Eight are attracting discounts of Rs 75,000. For the smaller displacement machines like Street 750 and Street Rod, the discounts range between Rs 25,000-35,000.
