BH CORRESPONDENT, Mumbai: After the makers of web series, Abhay 2 received immense flak on social media for using an image of freedom fighter Khudiram Bose on the criminal board in a scene with many netizens calling for a boycott of the OTT platform, they apologized for the error. In fact, the hashtag #BoycottZee5 trended on social media on Monday.
“The producers, show & the platform, have no intent whatsoever to offend any community or hurt anybody’s sentiments. Keeping in mind the feedback received and with utmost respect to our audience, we have blurred the image (inadvertently) used in one of the scenes of Abhay2,” tweeted Zee5.
And on Monday, Zee5 issued a clarification where the OTT platform mentioned that they have replaced the image in the said scene. They said it was completely unintentional and as a video streaming platform, they take it seriously. “We are a proud Indian brand and since inception, have presented multiple shows and content which represent our national and patriotic fervour. Our sincere request is not to politicize the issue and accept our unconditional apology,” the official handle of ZEE5Premium tweeted.
