BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: A mohalla clinic doctor in north-east Delhi’s Maujpur, who came in contact with a coronavirus patient, has tested positive. The doctor, who developed the symptoms of COVID-19, has been asked by the authorities to quarantine himself, said officials. The doctor’s wife and daughter also tested positive for COVID-19.
In the meantime, the Delhi government on Thursday ordered 14-day quarantine for 900 people, who had visited the Maujpur clinic, run by the doctor between March 12 and 18, Hindustan Times reported, citing Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
The doctor tested positive on March 21 after a 38-year-old woman, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia, visited his clinic. The woman had returned to India on March 10.
“All those who visited or were present at mohalla clinic in Mohanpuri area of Maujpur between 12 March to 18 March are directed to home quarantine for 14 days, after a confirmed coronavirus positive case reported from the clinic,” Jain said
The health minister said that 36 people have COVID-19 in the national capital with 23 being active cases.
