AGENCIES, New Delhi: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in India has touched 12,759 on Thursday night, and the number of deaths reached 420. According to the health ministry website, the number of active cases in the country stands at 10,824. Around 1514 people have been cured or discharged of coronavirus by now.
The health ministry informed on Thursday that 325 districts in India have no cases of COVID19. The ministry further stated that 941 fresh COVID-19 cases, 37 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra continues to be the state with the highest number of infections at 2,919. The death toll in the state reached 187. Meanwhile, 26 new cases were reported in Dharavi, Asia’s biggest slum. It took the total number of cases in Dharavi to 86 with nine deaths.
Delhi has the second highest number of infections at 1,578, according to the health ministry. Kerala has 388 cases till now and as the state finance minster said, it seems the state has managed to flatten the curve. Madhya Pradesh has 1120 cases with 53 deaths. Jammu & Kashmir also has 300 coronavirus positive cases and Uttar Pradesh recorded 773 cases. In West Bengal, the number of coronavirus cases were 231 according to ministry of health website. But according to Bengal government, the active cases in the state stand at 144. The death toll in the state is 10.
