BH CORRESPONDENT, New Delhi: As the coronavirus fear spread across the country after the number of positive cases climbed to 108 on Sunday, Ministry of Health’s Special Secretary Sanjeeva Kumar has said that the first and second confirmatory tests for COVID-19 are being made free for all citizens.
“The country has enough capacity as only 10% of the capacity has been utilised per day so far,” he added.
With Maharashtra reporting the highest number of coronavirus cases in India — 32, the Mumbai Police has imposed Section 144 to prohibit tour operators from any kind of group tours to foreign or domestic destinations till March 31, an official said on Sunday. The order will remain in force till March 31.
Maharashtra reported 14 new cases in one day. Maharashtra MLA Aditya Thackeray in a series of tweets has advised people to take precautions and not to panic.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendre Modi, on Sunday evening, attended a meeting with SAARC leaders on Sunday to frame a strategy to counter the coronavirus.
