BH CORRESPONDENT, Kolkata: A 19-year-old youth has been admitted to the isolation ward of a government hospital in Kolkata with coronavirus-like symptoms on Monday. He was sent to the hospital soon after he landed in the city from Thailand.
With this, the total number of patients admitted at the isolation ward of the Beliaghata ID and BG Hospital rose to 12.
The 19-year-old boy displayed coronavirus symptoms during thermal scanning at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Monday.
Swabs of all those admitted at the isolation ward of the hospital have been collected and sent for examination.
On Sunday, the West Bengal government set up two new isolation facilities in the state in Rajarhat. Together, the isolation centres can accommodate 800 patients. Another such ward has also been set up at Falakata Superspeciality Hospital of Alipurduar.
A total of 68,761 persons have been screened at Kolkata and Bagdogra airports, while 184,153 others underwent screening at seven land border check points along Nepal and Bangladesh.
